WHO WE ARE

Special Learning 1-ON-1 LLC provides services to children with a range of emotional, cognitive, and behavioral disorders.

Shawna Heiser, M.S., BCBA, was the fourth licensed Board Certified Behavior Analyst in the state of Montana. She holds state licensure and maintains national certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

Ms. Heiser has been in practice since 1996. She has professional experience supporting children and families with complex behavioral challenges. She presents professionally throughout the Northwestern United States, maintains a private practice serving diverse populations, and has served as a Senior Lecturer in the Psychology Department at Montana State University–Bozeman since 2002.

SPECIALIZATION

Special Learning 1-ON-1 LLC specializes in working with children, adolescents and adults with needs in the areas of communication disorders, cognitive delays, and emotional/behavioral disorders.

EXPERTISE IN TREATMENT

Special Learning 1-ON-1 LLC is experienced in treating children and families affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder,  Asperger’s Syndrome, Speech and Language Disorders, Sensory Processing Disorders, Learning Disabilities, Trauma and Stress Related Disorders, Behavioral and Emotional Disorders, Cognitive Delays as well as a variety of Anxiety, Attentional and Psychological Disorders.

METHODS

By careful use of positive behavioral principles such as applied behavioral analysis, cognitive behavioral therapy, social skills training, pivotal response training, and relationship development interventions we help individuals and families with unique needs increase their independence and daily functioning levels.
